SIGHTSEEING
All the tourist attractions of the city of Granada are at hand. The lodge is close to and well communicated with the city, which is 8 kilometers away on the freeway. Public transportation is available. There is direct access by freeway to the Alhambra and the Generalife gardens, approx. 7 km away from Otura.
Among the most noteworthy attractions of the city are the Cartuja monastery, the Royal Chapel in the cathedral, the districts of theAlcaicería, Sacromonte and the Albaicín.
ENTERTAINMENT
There are many cultural activities in the city throughout the year. The most famous is the Annual International Festival of Music and Dance, celebrated in the Alhambra and Generalife during the last half of June and first half of July. Reservations are necessary and should be made well in advance.
SPORTS AND OTHER LEISURE ACTIVITIES
SKI: From the lodge there is easy access to the Sierra Nevada ski resort, 39 km away.
MOUNTAIN CLIMBING is another exciting activity to be done in the Natural Park area of Sierra Nevada.
HIKING: Otura is surrounded by a large number of footpaths that extend throughout the highlands and foothills, offering the possibility of pleasurable walks and excursions from the very door of the lodge. At a distance of about 10 kms, there are some beautiful mountain trails: you can climb up the Trebenque or los Cahorros in Monachil, follow the Dilar river, or take a stroll along the path of la Estrella from Huéjar-Sierra.
MOUNTAIN BIKE: Biking is permitted on most of the aforementioned trails.
PADDLE-TENNIS: In Otura there are modern installations for the practice of both sports.
GOLF. The golf course of "Las Gabias" is just 5 km away.
HORSEBACK RIDING: There are stables at the lodge that are available for rent, but no horses are rented out. Guests may bring their own.
AUTOMOBILE EXCURSIONS. Within a 60 km radius there are numerous and varied excursions to be made: visiting the beaches on Granada’s mediterranean coast, the Alpujarras, the mountain pass of La Ragua, the Huetor Santillana Park, the area of Guadix.
PADDLE-TENNIS. In Otura there are modern installations for the practice of both sports.
GOLF. The Golf Course of Las Gabias is only 5 km away.
HORSEBACK RIDING. There are stables at the lodge that are available to rent but no horses are rented out. Guests may bring their own. The many trails offer delightful riding. Four kilometers away there is a horse riding establishment where you can arrange equestrian excursions into the Sierra Nevada.
